CT Scanning
Our in house CT scanner is located at our St Martin surgery.
A Computerised Tomography (CT) scan uses computers and rotating X ray machines to create cross sectional images of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside the body.
CT scan images provide more-detailed information than plain X-rays do.
A CT scan can be used to visualise nearly all parts of the body and is used to diagnose disease or injury as well as to plan medical, surgical or radiation treatment.
A 3-D image is produced of a particular area of interest.
Your pet will have a short general anaesthetic whilst the scan is performed.
We will go through the procedure with you in detail, should your pet be in need of a CT Scan.
